Re: Dumb questions - attempting descale and maintenance
So finally got the water lines out. I misunderstood how they worked, so for anyone else struggling with them - the ones on mine were basically like any other olive compression fit. There is a small part which fits to the tube to create the olive. Once the compression nut is out of the way, Rather th...

Re: Dumb questions - attempting descale and maintenance
Okay still can’t get the water lines off - any suggestions of where to buy replacements (uk) as I can’t find any. Can you just replace the collet or is it the whole elbow? Will need tubes as well give I can’t shift any of it.

Re: Dumb questions - attempting descale and maintenance
Chad thanks for the quick reply.. Been chiselling the gasket out, you’re right, it’s a pita. Not nearly as much of a pita as those jg fittings though, getting very close to just ordering new fittings and tubes to stop the profanity :) Truly epic scale in the steam boiler though. Which is odd as I se...

Dumb questions - attempting descale and maintenance
Hi, After a bit of neglect, I’ve decided that I want to give the old girl a new lease of life. Not major issues other than occasional overfilling of the steam boiler. Have ordered a top end seal kit so have a bag with a LOT of orings in! Not entirely sure where these all go but hopefully will become...

Hi Chas - hmmm good news is that the machine seems to
Work without it. Have emailed a few places to try to
Workout what the impact of it not being connected might be. Very odd.

Re: What does part 7953 actually do?
A couple of borrowed pics (neither mine as I’m not near it at the mo) Circled is the part I’m talking about. Talking to Chris coffee they’ve never seen it before on their machines so presume it’s something uk/euro - it’s been bypassed (ie there but not connected) and the machine seems to worm. Confu...

What does part 7953 actually do?
Hi Still on a slow mission to get my s1 all sorted. Found that the small circuit board under the steam boiler which I believe is part number 7953 has been bypassed. Presumably it has a purpose - what does it do? Any idea on how much a replacement it?’ & how it should be connected? Might be the n...

Re: Group gauge not working
Great idea. I’ve only got one of but a gauge instead of the spout should work.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been dropped lol

Re: Group gauge not working
Pressure is definitely not high! (It’s rubbish but acceptable).
Will find a replacement gauge and possibly a portafilter one - seems like a useful tool when it comes to all of this.

Group gauge not working
Me again.. slowly working through getting my machine sorted bit by bit. Group gauge doesn’t seem to work sitting just below 7.5 whether it’s on, off or pulling a shot. Likely to be gauge or just the tube bunged up? Any easy ways to check root cause? Once sorted I’ll try and sort the really average e...

Re: S1 spitting water from steam boiler vacuum breaker
Good news is it’s working again - leak from the safety valve and the vacuum breaker - I think mostly the boiler was over filled and the vacuum breaker had crap in it. Seems to be okay now, will keep an eye on it. However they mystery circuit is still not connected hopefully you can see it in the pic...

It’s under the steam boiler. 3 spade connectors and 3 components I think.
It’ll take a snap later.

Re: S1 spitting water from steam boiler vacuum breaker
Mine is plumbed not a mini. The wires are taped up next to the main ground post. I got it second hand and it’s fair to say wasn’t loved, so suspect it’s a hack to save a few pounds.

Re: S1 spitting water from steam boiler vacuum breaker
Hmm plot thickens. Still tinkering.
One thing I’ve found is that the circuit board beneath the steam boiler isn’t connected at all - looking at the parts catalogue I think it’s ‘filtro ALIMENTAZIONE‘ - is this just a power filter? Not sure why it was bypassed, anyone shed any light on the downside?

S1 spitting water from steam boiler vacuum breaker
Hi
My s1 v2 is spitting water from the vacuum breaker on the top of the steam boiler, this is then running down and tripping the circuit breaker. Lovely! Great placement!
What’s the normal fix for this? The valve is scree in - is it a clean or replace job? Any tips?
Cheers

Re: Just picked up a S1 Vivaldi II - used, now what
Thanks for the reply.
Am away until the weekend but will start from scratch after a back flush and see how we get on with weights and timings and go from there. Need to see what the pressure gauge is doing while it's going to make sure it's building pressure properly.
Cheers

Re: Just picked up a S1 Vivaldi II - used, now what
Well just looked at the date of my original post, it really has taken me this long to finish the kitchen! So my s1 vii has been sitting all this time, it's now plumbed in and I've started to have a look to see if it works and anything that needs doing. Seems to be mostly fine but got an odd problem ...

Just picked up a S1 Vivaldi II - used, now what
Morning, I've just picked up a used (from a pub) S1 Vivaldi II & a Mazzer Super Jolly timer - both seem to have had a bit of a life in a pub. the coffee machine powers up etc but I haven't had a chance to plumb it in & get it going properly yet - need to get a water filter as this is my firs...
