Re: Shot timings
Sorry to hear of your grinder problems - sounds frustrating. You add about 5 seconds to what time?. If you grinder was working perfectly and you could chose your exact extraction time what would it be?

Shot timings
Hi I know I have already asked this in a roundabout way but I wanted to know how long people extract for if you have mechanical pre-infusion fitted. I am currently trying 30 seconds (including any Preinfusion time) but I emailed Chris coffee and they said you should add not time for preinfusion I.e....

Re: Timings after pre-infusion
Jfreski.. I see now you have posted a lot of detail of detail on the other thread... Ideal... The only thing you haven't covered is the timings of your shots pre and post preinfusion. How did you adjust the extraction time? Did you just stick to identical timings? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Ta...

Re: Timings after pre-infusion
This is very interesting.. I dose 18 grams in a double and never seem to have any problems. I do drink very lightly toasted beans though and never drink anything roasted beyond medium. What is the reason people say go below 16gr? I also never got on with a triple basket. As for the preinfusion... It...

Re: Timings after pre-infusion
Hi richardcoffee... Those timings seems a little long to me and the dose a little low but if it is working for you then no problems. I'll try your recipe at the weekend.

Re: Timings after pre-infusion
Thanks both - this is very interesting. It has certainly complicated things for me. 40 seconds it much longer than I am going for - what weight of espresso are you getting in that time? I am also dosing 18gr... I was thinking of going for a compromise of adding 3 seconds to my shot....any further th...

Re: Mini preinfusion chamber failure.
Hi can I ask what your brew recipe was before you took off the Preinfusion and after ie what do you dose, what weight of espresso do you aim for and within what time? Thanks

Timings after pre-infusion
Hi I have fitted the mechanical progressive pre-infusion mod on my vivaldi II. I really just wanted to know what timings people recommend? I have read around the subject and this seems to be some disagreement about The amount of time you should count for pre-infusion. It seems to be about six second...

Re: Pre infusion fitted... now back flush noise
I think it is just the back flush of the water. Added mine a year ago, not sure I can taste the difference in the cup, but I don't regret it. Thanks also... I have only had mine a week but I am not sure what difference I am noticing. What difference do you think it should have made? I'm going to po...

Re: Is this part from my vivaldi?
That's a Versa Lab burr sharpener; once a month you're supposed to run it through the grinder and the little teeth clean out the grooves on the burrs and sharpen them simultaneously. Right, Chas? ;-) Ha... i think it is multi purpose... im happy to post it over to the US and you can sharpen up the ...

Pre infusion fitted... now back flush noise
Hi i have recently bought and fitted the mechanical pre-infusion device which i think has come from Chris' coffee but i bought it from La Spaz in the UK. It was straightforward to fit and i now get 6 seconds before the espresso appears - all good. the issue is that now, i think on only some shots, i...

Re: Is this part from my vivaldi?
Hi I have been enjoying this forum for a while but am posting for the first time. I have a vivaldi II paired with a versalab m3 and live in the UK. Today I fitted the mechanical infusion part from Chris' coffee. It all went well but when I cleared up I found the following part ... See photo please.....
