Re: Thanks for the memories.

Will do, John. I am on day 4. I have gone through a pound of coffee and am finally pulling decent shots, still with my Mazzer Mini. I am upgrading grinders as well in a few days. Thus far, I am enjoying the machine, but I don't feel like the quality of my shots is better. Actually I am not as good a...

Re: Thanks for the memories.

Well good luck with the GS/3. I'm sure you will enjoy as much as it looks like you enjoyed your S1V2. Very nice pours. Happy Holidays. Thanks, Lowell. Happy Holidays to you as well. I have defintely enjoyed the La Spaziale. I may regret the change -- day one with the GS/3 was a rough one! :-...

Thanks for the memories.

Amazing group of folks dedicated to an amazing machine -- that's what you all are. I have been mostly a lurker for the past several years, and I got to be pretty good on my S1V2, in part thanks to all of your willingness to share your skills and experience. I've decided to try my hand at a GS/3, whi...

Re: Plumbing question

For what it is worth, I used 3/8" at Chris Coffee's suggestion, but they said 1/4" would have been fine as well. My machine came from Chris ready to accept 3/8". Also consider a pressure regulator to ensure proper pre-infusion pressure. I wasn't particularly happy with the one Chris sells and I ende...

Re: Put Up Your Latte Art Pics!

Looks good, Endo! Curious -- how big is the cup? For the big pic, I clicked the Img button and then pasted in a direct link from photobucket. The code looks like this: (but I added "REMOVE" so it would not p...

I have the new one and like it. While we're on the subject, is there a trick to aligning the pressure guage?

Re: Latte Art

Thanks Endo. I should clarify that i am a novice with the Spaziale but I did have a HX machine for a couple of years prior, though in truth my latte art was terrible with it because I had difficulty steaming with that particular machine. I did try pouring into a cup on the table with the Spaziale bu...

Where's all the latte art?

I've been at it for just a few weeks with the Spaziale. Here's today's pour -- not my best but not my worst! Would really like to see some new posts here.

Wow, great thread for novices with the V2. I wondered about the half full PF as well. The basket in the bottomless is a triple, right? Maybe updose a bit?

Actually all they sent me was the top cover and a new sensor. I never asked for the base because like you I couldn't imagine that it was damaged. The leak was clearly in the top cover.

Just saw this. Exact same issue that I had. The oter thread was mine. A new top was all I needed. The brass base seems to have been fine. Glad your problem is identified and on its way to resolution.

Both are plastic, Chas, but it is a HUGE relief to have the new part installed and no more leak! :-P

The part arrived yesterday, and in 20 minutes I completed the install, no more leak!!!

The first pic is the newly installed replacement part. The second is a pic of the part with the crack:

Re: Ugh - hairling crack in flow meter

The one thing that I absolutely know for certain is that CCS will fix your problem and imho their service department is among the very best in the business. Totally agree. They have been nothing short of great thus far. The good news is that the leak is small enough that I am able to use the machin...

Re: Ugh - hairling crack in flow meter

Bummer. Probably just another LaSpaziale assembly quality control issue. (Cover tightened too hard). l I doubt it was from over torquing the screw, based on the location of the leak. The crack appears to be where what I will call the "base" of the plate meets the "pedestal" into which the sensor pl...

Re: Ugh - hairling crack in flow meter

You'd think if this came from the flowmeter vendor already cracked they would have found it during bench testing either at LaSpaz or CCS. I wonder if some water was still in there and froze enroute to CA? I wondered the same thing, Chas. The crack is tiny, such that I went ahead and pulled several ...

Ugh - hairline crack in flow meter

Well, I didn't plan on my first post being this one, but I am still smiling. Long story short -- I plumbed in my machine (VII) and started it up this morning. I noticed water seeping from under the drip tray. I traced the leak to a hairline crack in the flow meter. The picture of the part below is s...

Line In Question on VII

First post -- I have a VII on order and I expect it next week. I am plumbing it in myself and I am trying to do some prep work with my John Guest tubing and fittings. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I can't find it: Must the line in rout and connect vertically or can it come in horizonta...
