Re: HOWTO: Installing a power-on timer on your S1 (Request)
Well 5 years on and while cleansing the house of X10 devices I changed the X10 universal module that's been semi-reliably controlling our Spaz mini to a super cheap esp8266 wifi processor based relay board. Updated my writeup here.

Re: Strange Mini II Happenings
We've tweaked the vario settings over time. It just seemed that something was wrong when one day it was fine and the next it wasn't. I can't see that the coffee could change so much over night? The coffee tastes great. I'll pass this info on to the house barista. Thanks!

Re: Strange Mini II Happenings
It used to take 30s now it takes 55s. I think that is too slow? It had started putting out too much volume for no apparent reason which triggered us to reprogram the dose as shown in the video.

Re: Strange Mini II Happenings
Hi All, Thanks for the quick feedback! The video is actually of programming the shot dose on the double button so that's why the light's are doing that. We were reprogramming the dose because of the strange increase in volume we were seeing. I'll definitely check the basket holes as I didn't...

Strange Mini II Happenings
We've had our mini II for about 18 months now. Recently my wife noticed that our usual double shot's had started to overflow the 2.5 oz bodum shot glasses and she had to manually shutoff the machine, whereas before the machine would shutoff perfectly as the glass was almost full. Our shots would alw...

Re: HOWTO: Installing a power-on timer on your S1 (Request)
Sorry Livin, only know how to do it with a universal module (< $20 on ebay if you change your mind) and the front panel. Funnily enough the universal module is plugged into an X10 outlet with an on/off override but it doesn't help with turning the unit on and off.

I just use a straighforward event that turns the device on and 1 or 3 seconds later turns it off:

Re: Reverse Osmosis and Input Pressure
Hi JMan, lol! We both gave good descriptions of accumulators. The Spaz VII does require higher than accumulator pressures for the PI to work so we went with a mini (also skipped the mechanical PI). The water output of our RO system is more than adequate to meet the peak rate of coffee production we ...

Re: Our new Mini II and Vario Setup
Hi, Still loving it and have gone through a pound of coffee worth of latte's, americano's and espresso's. Parent's were shocked at the price but were quickly made believers after a couple of lattes each. Endo: Thanks for the tip on the pitcher in the fridge. The single and double PF's ...

Our new Mini II and Vario Setup
Ordered the stuff from Chris Coffee Monday afternoon and we had the items in our mitts up in Canada on Wednesday afternoon. Here's a goofy vid of me playing with the steam and some pics. Click the pic below to see the rest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOUs9eRPbDg&hd=1 http://lh4.ggpht.com/_0b...

Re: Purchase Question from Canada
Torpedo away! Just ordered the Mini Vivaldi II and a Baratza Vario from CC along with a bottomless PF, Cafelat Pillar tamper, Cafelat Tubbi knock box and Pro Barista 20oz steaming pitcher. We switched to a mini because we like to use our RO water and its low pressure meant that the pre-infusion woul...

Reverse Osmosis and Input Pressure
Hi all, We are going through the process of purchasing a Spaz V2. My plan was to connect it to our RO drinking water supply. Before we had RO, you could see the scale build up in our kettle and coffee maker in just a short period of usage. After the RO installation everything stays in like-new condi...

Re: Purchase Question from Canada
Thanks for the responses folks! Would love to hear from any Canadians that bought a Spaz from Chris Coffee to hear how their warranty is handled. From what it sounds like even if we got it direct shipped to Calgary we'd probably still be ahead with Chris's prices, duty (9%?, grinder should be duty f...

Thanks Oton. Great city you live in there. Do you cheer for Athletico or Real? Athletico beat my team last night. :( I was born in Liverpool and emigrated to Canada when I was 13.

Purchase Question from Canada
Hi All, Great resource you have here! After much research my Wife and I have decided to purchase a Beratza Vario grinder and a LaSpaziale V2. We live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and enjoy store bought espressos, lattes, cappos and Americanos and home drip and french press coffee. The closest dealer ...
