Recently I decided to take the cover off the grinder using the instruction on the Baratza website, because of some vibration that had developed. Previously I had installed shims to keep the arms from moving from one setting to another, but I had never taken the case off. I was amazed and the amount of coarse grinds on the inside, considering I don't grind for drip or french press very often at all. Anyway, I tightened all screws/bolts in sight and reassembled after cleaning and the vibration had disappeared.
I should add that I take the upper burr out and completely clean the grinder using a vacuum, compressed air, pipe cleaner, brush, etc at least once a month.
